It feels like we hit a point each summer where all you can do is think about the fall. Everything is suffocatingly hot, and you seriously don’t know how many “keep cool” wishes you have left in you. If you are about done with the summer heat, I’m here to help you find the perfect ways to welcome in the cooler weather! As a Raleigh family photographer, I love working with parents to find ways to make each and every season count. Here are the fall festivals in Raleigh to have on your radar!
100 S Main Street, Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina 27526
Each year, the town of Fuquay-Varina, just outside Raleigh throws a fall festival celebration unlike any other! On the first Saturday of October, be sure to drop in so you can enjoy a day of festivities! Kids will have their own spot in the Kid Zone where they can enjoy rides, inflatables, and a rock wall. They can take a break to visit Mimi the Clown, who specializes in face painting. Additionally, you can check out art, live music, food trucks, and a sticky bun contest.
8003 Regency Pkwy, Cary, North Carolina 27518
While Triangle Oktoberfest is known for some of the best beer in Raleigh, this annual fall festival was created to be fun for the entire family! The celebration kicks off the first Friday in October and lasts throughout Saturday. During your time here, you can sample over 65 beer varieties and pair them with decadent German food. Meanwhile, younger visitors will be able to hang out in the kids’ area where there will be inflatables, games, and face painting. Be sure to get there in time for one of the three wiener dog races!
2401 Grigsby Avenue, Holly Springs, North Carolina 27540
Toward the end of October, Holly Springs hosts an annual fall festival where they celebrate the community just outside Raleigh! Located in Bass Lake Park, this free event invites you to come out and shop from local artists, check out different businesses, and sample the finest food around. They also have countless kids’ activities, and there will be local entertainment happening throughout the entire day!
115 North Pine Street, Wendell, North Carolina 27591
Wendell Harvest Festival takes place once a year at the beginning of October! Things kick off early on Saturday with a parade through the heart of downtown Wendell. From there, you can check out stage performances, local food trucks, and a market featuring different area artists. Kids will have their own village where they can celebrate the season while competing in games and playing in the foam machine. No matter your age, you are about to have the best time ever!
If you are looking for the best way to welcome in autumn, these fall festivals in Raleigh are your spot! Now, it’s time to make sure you have a way to make all those memories last. That’s where I come in! I am a Raleigh family photographer, and I love working with parents to document each and every milestone.
