This season of motherhood is already full of firsts and lasts. Sticky hands and loud laughter. The way the house never stays clean for long. The moments of pure joy mixed with total exhaustion. You’re living in the middle of it all, doing your best to hold everything together while knowing, somehow, that this season won’t last forever.

Once your session is booked, we’ll connect — either on a quick planning call or through email — to walk through every detail so you feel completely prepared. You’ll have access to my thoughtfully curated client wardrobe, filled with soft, flattering pieces for moms, so there’s no need to shop or stress.

I’ll share styling tips and help you choose outfits that feel natural and timeless. Together, we’ll select the perfect location — your home, my studio, or somewhere meaningful.

The Day of Your Family Photo Session

Your family session is about celebrating the beauty of this season just as it is. There’s no need to worry about posing or what to do. I’ll gently guide you in a way that feels natural and relaxed, leaving plenty of space for movement, laughter, and the in-between moments that feel most like your family.

Whether your kids are full of energy, a little shy, or somewhere in between, I create a calm, supportive environment where you can slow down, be present, and simply enjoy being together. The goal isn’t perfection. It’s connection, and capturing your family exactly as they are right now.

You’ll be able to order your favorite images, albums, and artwork directly through your gallery or, if you’d prefer, we can meet virtually to walk through everything together. However you choose, the process is simple, flexible, and designed to fit your busy life.

What kind of photographer are you?

I’d describe myself as a lifestyle family photographer. I’ll give you enough directions to help you feel comfortable, but I also make space for natural, real moments with your loved ones. I’ll always get a few classic “everyone smiling at the camera” photos, but most of your gallery will be filled with the in-between moments that show your family as you truly are.

What should we wear for our family photo session?

I’ll send you a style guide ahead of your session to make choosing outfits simple. You’ll also have access to my client wardrobe, and if you’d like extra help, I can share shoppable outfit links for the whole family. My biggest advice is to choose clothing that feels comfortable and true to you; while keeping colors soft and coordinating so the focus stays on your family’s connection.

What if my kids don’t cooperate?

This isn’t something you need to worry about. I’ve never had to reschedule a session because kids were being kids. Movement, playfulness, and even not looking at the camera are always welcome here. The more you relax and enjoy your little people, the more natural and meaningful your photos become.

Where do family sessions take place?

We can keep things simple in my natural light studio, head outdoors to one of my favorite locations, or stay cozy at home. Each option has its own feel, and it really comes down to what feels most comfortable and true to your family.

When should I Book my Raleigh family Photos?

As soon as you know you would like to book, reach out so I can save your date. The earlier we start planning, the better. Fall and spring are my busiest seasons and outdoor dates go quickly, but sessions can take place year-round in my natural light studio or in your home, where we do not have to worry about weather or busy seasons.

Who is included in a family session?

Raleigh family photography sessions are meant to be inclusive, so I welcome everyone: parents, kids, grandparents, and even your pups. I’ll make sure to photograph the whole family together, individual shots of the kids, parents with each child, and all the little combinations in between.
